"Shanghaied" is a black and white short that was released on January 13, 1934. The film was directed by Burt Gillett, with animation by Norm Ferguson, Clyde Geronimi, Ed Love, Cy Young, Dick Lundy, and Johnny Cannon.

The story of "Shanghaied" is that Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse have been kidnapped by Pete and his pirate crew. The two captives were tied up by Pirate Pete, and he prepares to have his way with Minnie. Mickey escapes and grabs a swordfish off the wall. A swordfight ensues with Mickey using a fish and Pete wielding a real sword. Mickey escapes the cabin and gets to the deck; there he is able to hoist Minnie up onto the mast. Pete summons his pirate crew, but Mickey fights them off with a cannon. He shoots pots, pans, a stove, and ultimately a harpoon before finally winning back Minnie and the ship.

This is a spectacular original production animation drawing of both Peg Leg Pete and Mickey Mouse from the 1934 black and white animated film "Shanghaied." Mickey is sword fighting using a swordfish, while Pete is using a real sword. Pete is also spinning around uncontrollably, because he accidentally had the rolling legs of a desk chair attached to where his peg leg had been. It is rare to have multiple characters on a single sheet, and this drawing has both a full figure Mickey Mouse and Pet Leg Pete; complete with an action filled sword fight. A wonderful piece of vintage Walt Disney animation artwork!
